Dog Days of Summer

We had a hot week this week so the kids and I got out their cool pool and went swimming. It was a lot of fun. Ella and Jed both really had fun and Luke got in and splashed around too. As I was filling the pool with water I had a strong memory of being a kid, being really hot, and having a pool to splash in to cool off. When the kids and I came in for the day their hair was matted wet to their heads and their kisses smelled of sweaty sunscreen. I am also realizing that Jed is getting older. He can do so much and wants to do so much more. Since he is the oldest, obviously he was the baby long long ago, but I remember it the best. He made sure of that. I still remember being pregnant with him in the summer of 2002. I remember sitting in the hot sun on our back porch playing fetch with Daisy. I was too big and tired to get out of the chair to get the ball, so that was when I taught her to keep picking it up and just putting it in my hand. That was a hot summer and now many have come along. I still feel too tired to get up! Time really is moving fast and I am trying to make sure I enjoy this summer with my babies, while they are all still babies. Daisy has been at my side for all of these kiddos... and even she is growing up faster than she should. I think my children are giving her gray hair. She is a happy mellow dog who is loving the summer too.

Hi! I'm the one who has invaded the FoodFlow blog and just wanted to see who all these fun friends of Emily's are. I really need to take a trip and meet you all. Sounds like a fun group. : )

It looks like they had fun outside! How long do they stay out there?
