7:29am, What?????

So those of you who have known me for the last 5+ years are aware of my long journey through life with Jed and his lack of sleep skills. This is something that has improved slowly over time. We no longer sit beside his bed at night, reading books until he falls asleep. He actually falls asleep very quickly these days. He still does his random -crash where you land- technique, you know, falling asleep on the couch, floor, stairs, table, etc.. but it happens less often. Progress not Perfection right?

Well with the exception of a couple days, ever since -Spring Forward- the kids are sleeping in until 7 or so. This morning Jed came in my room at 7:29am!!!! What????? This is a miracle! We have been keeping the kids up a little later, even before changing the clocks, and my logical brain tells me that technically, it's still 6:30, but I really don't care. He is going to bed at 8:30 and sleeping until 7:30. Sweet! This was something I have prayed for for years!!! Looking back, I see the tiny baby steps of progress with his sleep and have resigned myself to accepting it for what it is. I have an early riser, I was an early riser too. But I have to give credit where credit is due, so thank you, Government of Indiana for changing the law and requiring us to change our clocks so I can feel like my kids are sleeping in. (Ella and Luke got up at 8am!!)

Now, I realize this may be some kind of government hoax, but I will take it as long as I can. Nothing will make up for the exhaustion I felt when Jed was a new baby, well, except for the 4 months of sleeping in until 10am before he was born, but can you blame me? So, if you call before 8am and I sound groggy, I will forgive you for disturbing my hard earned slumber.
