Good Morning Earthquake!

So I have heard this before. That there is a vault line somewhere in the Midwest. My sister has mentioned feeling an earthquake somewhere around here before. Well this morning, I got to experience my very first earthquake! wow! That was nuts. Ella had wandered into my bed around 5am. Sigh. She cuddled right up to me and conked out. Good girl. I couldn't sleep cause she is the loudest thumb sucker I know. Not that I know too many. But I did doze off, only to startle awake and I am not joking the whole house was shaking! At first I thought it was an airplane. They fly overhead to land at the airport and are pretty loud and shake the windows now and then. But the bed was swaying, the walls were totally shaking, and the dresser handles were rattling. What was funny about them was that they rattled very steadily for about 10 seconds. I knew after about 2 seconds that it was an earthquake. I just sat there waiting. I'm sure I was looking pretty bug-eyed in the dark. It was freaky! So I popped right outta bed and did my workout! Nothing like a great quake to get you out of bed. I concluded, I don't really need to ever feel one of those again. Growing up in the midwest has actually made me fear quakes because they are the unknown to me. Tornados don't worry me. So now I had a very minor taste of experiencing an earthquake and I cannot imagine a big one. The early reports say the quake came from Illinois and was a 5.4. Cool!! I felt it! That's just nuts.

Wow Becca...that would be so scary to wake up too!!! I've been through a couple quakes and I hated the feeling of "unstableness" when you're trying to walk!! Hopefully that will be the last one you have to experience!!!
