My Cup Runneth Over...

101 posts! Wow, cool! I believe this is #102.

This evening I am standing in my kitchen, simmering hot apple cider and real maple syrup so that I can make a maple roast turkey tomorrow. I am softening some cream cheese for some fab truffles I have never made before, and listening to IL Divo sing A Place For Us and other splendid Christmas tunes. The music is humming from last year's Christmas gift, a Under the Counter CD player. Love it! My heart is full of grattitude this night for all things that are right in my life. My children nestled into bed without a fight, Erick is taking his mind off things in his video game room, and I am alone with my thoughts and the fragrance of maple cider. Ahhh... My heart is with those who are sad tonight. My boistorous Uncle Dennis is resting on the Eve of what is likely to be his last great Thanksgiving Feast. My thoughts are with you Uncle Dennis and family. My mom who is probably sewing a quilt, thinking of her brother, and also of her sister who she lost earlier this year. My sister, who is hopefully preparing for her last Thanksgiving without her hubby home. My father in law, who went into the hospital today for heart issues and will be spending Thanksgiving there so that he can have an artery blockage checked out on Friday. My family is here with me, snuggled in bed, resting peacefully. I have a roaster oven, so I am ok with the fact that my oven does not work. I am grateful for google, for without which, I would not know the appropriate equilvalent for dried thyme. I am grateful for Erick, who may have to make a butter run tonight or tomorrow. I am grateful for my toasty warm, fragrant house and the safety we feel here. I am grateful to have my children, home, safe, and healthy. For that is a true gift from my Heavenly Father. I am so thankful this night for the Gospel and the comfort the truth brings me. As many of my family face trials and sadness, to know there is an eternal plan, gives me peace. I am so thankful for my friends, near and far, who I know think of me and who support me. What gifts I am given. I am thankful for the trials my little family has had this year. We started the year with a bang and have hung in there with all our might. Much to be grateful for! Now, I must go make those Oreo Truffles so I don't dissappoint my crowd tomorrow.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving, and I know that no matter what is on your plate, you have at least one thing to be thankful for, and that is the Love of the Savior and the Love of our Father in Heaven. So there, that is 2, now think of a 3rd and eat some turkey!

To get your tummy rumbling, here is my menu:
Maple Roast Turkey
Stuffing
Tart Cranberry Dipping Sauce

Corn on the Cob (yes)
